To locate material not held by UCL you can use the Library Hub Discover site: an online catalogue with records of the holdings of the top research libraries in the country.

  • Senate House Library has strong collections in languages, the arts and social and historical sciences. Any registered member of UCL can join the library and borrow from there. You can pre-register online.
  • The British Library holds one of the leading research collections in the world for the study of Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and the former USSR. UCL staff and students can apply directly for reference access.
  • COSEELIS (Council for Slavonic and East European Library and Information Services) provides a directory of all UK institutions and libraries  that have expertise, research interests in, and teaching programmes, as well as information resources related to Central, East European and Slavonic Studies.
  • LSE Library offers reference access for undergraduate and taught postgraduate students, and academics and research students can borrow books from the Main Collection. External users have reference access to the Course Collection during vacations only.
