British Library
UCL staff and students can apply directly for reference access.
British Museum Library
The British Museum Library collection includes more than 300,000 volumes. The collection is in the nine study spaces of Africa, Oceania and the Americas, Asia, Britain, Europe and Prehistory including Horology, Coins and Medals, Egypt and Sudan, Greece and Rome, Middle East, Prints and Drawings, and Conservation and Scientific Research.
Institute of Historical Research Library
Part of the School of Advanced Study University of London, The library supports research across a wide range of historical subjects, time periods and places.
Royal Commonwealth Society Library
Based at the University of Cambridge, with many resources online, the library is an enormous repository of information, pictorial and written, print and manuscript, on the Commonwealth and Britain's former colonial territories.
Senate House Library
Has strong collections in languages, the arts and social and historical sciences. Any registered member of UCL can join the library and borrow from there. You can pre-register online
SOAS Library
The SOAS Library (School of Oriental and African Studies) has excellent collections for African, Asian and Middle East materials. It is available for reference use by an member of UCL, but only academic staff and research postgraduates may borrow.
