Generative AI and library skills

Generative AI (GenAI) has the potential to transform how we study, research, work, and live. However, to harness its full potential, we must understand how to use it effectively and responsibly, while also being mindful of its limitations. In this guide we address the use of GenAI in relation to the library research process.

Before using GenAI, you should ensure that:

• You know whether or not it is permitted (or required) for your assignment / research.
• You understand the limitations and risks of using GenAI.
• Your assignment / research remains your own work.
