When it comes to doing assignments you need to ensure you plan your search effectively, including:

• understand expectations in terms of the quantity of information you should seek and recognise when you have enough information for the task. See Understanding the nature of your search.
• can identify relevant search concepts and synonyms: See Defining search terms.
• understand what types of sources will be most appropriate and relevant to inform your assignment, particularly books and journals.
• can identify resources relevant to your subject in order to identify the relevant information sources to inform your assignment. See Where to look for information and particularly Explore and library webpages and Databases.
