To locate material not held by other libraries in the UK you can use the Library Hub Discover site: an online catalogue with records of the holdings of the top research libraries in the country. Many of the resources from the catalogue may be available for UCL members in libraries located within a short distance of the UCL Bloomsbury campus.

  • Senate House Library has strong collections in languages, the arts and social and historical sciences. Any registered member of UCL can join the library with borrowing rights. You can pre-register online.
  • The British Library holds one of the leading research collections in the world for the study of Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and the former USSR. UCL staff and students can apply directly for reference access.
  • COSEELIS (Council for Slavonic and East European Library and Information Services) provides a directory of all UK institutions and libraries with resources related to Central, East European and Slavonic Studies.
  • LSE Library offers reference access for undergraduate and taught postgraduate students. Academics and research students can borrow books from the Main Collection. External users have reference access to the Course Collection during vacations only.
