Guide to using EBSCOhost databases (new interface launched August 2025)

Saving search results

PLEASE NOTE: when saving multiple records within the EBSCOhost platform, only 50 records can be selected at once. However, you can export up to 25,000 records.

Saving results to the Dashboard

Sign in before saving to save results beyond the current session. 

  • Use the Save icon Bookmark icon.to save records to the Saved area of My dashboard in the left hand panel.
    • To save a single record, select the Save icon to the right of the record.
    • To save multiple records, use the check boxes to select the records you wish to save, then select the Save icon from the menu just above the results list.
  • To view the saved result(s): 
    • select Saved from the My dashboard menu in the left hand panel,
    • make sure you are viewing the Records tab to see your saved items.

Saving results to Projects

You can create projects (i.e. folders) to save collections of records.

  • Use the checkboxes to select a single record or multiple records from the results list.
  • Use the Add to project icon Folder icon with a plus symbol at the centre. to save records to a project. 
  • You will be prompted to sign in if you have not already done so.
  • In the pop-up window, use the Choose a project drop-down menu to create a New project, or to open an existing project.
  • Select Projects from the My dashboard menu to the left of the database screen to view a list of your saved projects. (You can add new projects from within the Projects area by selecting the plus sign to the right of the screen.)

See a list of your recently viewed records

  • Select Recent activity from the My dashboard menu.
  • Select the Viewed Records tab, to see a list of your recently viewed records.
  • Use the menu options to the right of each record to save a record more permanently by adding it to the Saved or Projects areas of My dashboard, or to delete a record from the list.

MyEBSCO account

To save your search results and search strategies permanently, you will need to create a free MyEBSCO account.

  • Select MyEBSCO at the top right of the database screen.
  • Select Create an account.
  • You can sign in with your Google login details, or you can complete the short form and then select Create account.

Once you have an account, you will be able to select MyEBSCO and then select Sign in to MyEBSCO.

NOTE: If you had a personal MyEBSCO account in the old, classic EBSCOhost platform, you can use this account to sign into the new platform and some of your saved content will transfer across to the new platform.
