You can use Filters to narrow down your results by date, subject, language etc. The filter options vary according to the database being searched.

When you are typing in a search, you can click the Filters menu underneath the search box to view and apply the available filters before you run the search. If you have already run the search and are viewing results, you can click the All Filters button at the top of the results to access the same filter options and apply them retrospectively to the search results.

Some databases offer a Linked Full Text filter. This is not recommended as it will limit your search to only those results that have full text available within the database which may restrict your research as you might have access to the full text via another route.
