Guide to using EBSCOhost databases (new interface launched August 2025)

Accessing EBSCOhost databases

UCL staff and students may access EBSCOhost resources from any computer. Link from the UCL Library Services databases list. Off-site access requires a UCL user ID.

NHS users may access EBSCOhost databases via the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub, logging in with NHS OpenAthens. Please note that this system still uses the classic version of EBSCOhost, please visit our guide to the classic version.

Other UCL library members may access EBSCOhost resources from 'Explore Access Points' situated within library buildings.

Important!
Always link to EBSCOhost databases from the UCL Library Services databases list or from links in this guide. This will ensure you have full access.

EBSCOhost can also be accessed via the EBSCO Mobile App. The app can be downloaded and installed from either of the following:

After opening the EBSCO App, use the Access with your institution feature to sign in with your UCL username and password or with your NHS England Open Athens account.
