University College Hospital NHS Trust: Library Guide

Evidence Search Service

Need high-quality evidence to support your clinical decisions, research, or service development?
Our team can help you find the best available information quickly and efficiently.

Staff based at National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery

Queen Square Library supports users in conducting effective literature searches through training on tools like PubMed and OvidSP.

We also offer a literature search service for NHNN staff. This includes a one-off search following an initial meeting to define keywords and limits. We then search agreed databases to find relevant articles.

To book an appointment, please email us at neurolibrary@ucl.ac.uk.

Staff based at all other UCLH Trust sites

The team at the Cruciform Hub offer an Evidence Search Service to provide information and evidence to support you in your research and clinical practice.

What we offer:

  • We typically search Medline and other relevant databases (depending on your question) and send you a search strategy, along with a list of relevant references with abstracts and links to full-text items where available, in a Word document within 15 business days (depending on capacity).
  • Service capacity is limited, and evidence searches are undertaken on a first-come, first-served basis. At busy times, it may be necessary to close the service to new requests.

Assessed Coursework:
Searches cannot be carried out if the purpose is for a marked course or assignment. However, we can offer training to help you undertake the search yourself.

Urgent Requests:
If your search is urgent clinical decision making please email crucilibservices@ucl.ac.uk
