Although the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition (2020) is the most recent one, you may be asked to use the 6th edition instead.

There are significant differences between the 6th and 7th editions and we recommend that you check your course handbook for details of the style being recommended to you. It is also a good idea to ask your tutor which referencing style they want you to use in your academic work.
