APA

This guide introduces the APA referencing style and includes examples of citations

Book/eBook (one author)

To be made up of: 

  • Author/editor.
  • Year of publication (in round brackets).
  • Title (in italics).
  • Edition (in round brackets).
  • Publisher.
  • DOI or URL.

The current edition of APA does not require the place of publication in the reference list. You only need to include the edition if it is not the first edition. 

 In-text citation:

(Guy, 2001)

Reference list:

Guy, J. (2001). The view across the river: Harriette Colenso and the Zulu struggle against imperialism. University Press of Virginia.
