There are hundreds of websites devoted to the study of Archaeology and its subdisciplines.The web sites recommended below represent a cross-section of resources and research useful for students studying the subject at university level.

Association for Environmental Archaeology
The Association for Environmental Archaeology (AEA) seeks to promote environmental archaeology worldwide and provide a voice to those working within the discipline, inputting into debates and polices that affect the field, and demonstrating the relevance of environmental archaeology to people and the planet.

Key Institutions for Archaeology

There are many institutions, societies and institutions dedicated to the study of Archaeology world-wide. Many will be specific to countries or subdisciplines. A few key examples are given below.

Chartered Institute for Archaeologists
The leading professional body representing archaeologists working in the UK and overseas.
Council for British Archaeology
The CBA is a membership organisation, bringing together institutions and individuals to create a unique forum for the British archaeological community. The organisation works across the UK, alongside twelve CBA Groups in Wales and England.
European Association of Archaeologists
The Association for all professional archaeologists of Europe and beyond. The EAA has had over 15.000 members on its database from 60 countries world-wide working in prehistory, classical, medieval and later archaeology.
