A guide to the steps involved in planning an effective search for information.

Accessing e-resources: UCL students and staff

To access many of our electronic resources you will need your UCL userid and password, which will become valid for using electronic resources after your enrolment process is completed and the official start date of your academic programme has been reached.

When you are accessing UCL's electronic resources off campus, you will need to log in.

From the Library home page, follow the link to Electronic resources

The Electronic resources page provides lots of information about e-resources  available, how to access them, and terms of use.

If you access resources from home make sure you follow the links from the library pages to ensure you are prompted to log in using your UCL userid and password.

Accessing our library collections

To make the most of our services, log in to your library account in Explore. Log in with your UCL userID and password:

Logging in will mean you can:

  • see loan periods for books;
  • place requests for items;
  • see your loans and when they are due back;
  • renew your loans;
  • access electronic books and journals
  • and more!
