UK Data Service
The UK Data Service is a comprehensive resource funded by the ESRC to support researchers, teachers and policymakers who depend on high-quality social and economic data. Registration is required if you wish to download, order or analyse data online, where this is possible. Use your UCL username and password.
Statista
Statista is an online portal for statistics consolidating statistical data on over 80,000 topics from more than 22,500 sources and covering over 170 different industries. UCL users do not have access to the Company database or the Global Consumer Survey. The Research AI assistant can provide useful insights into Statista data, but be aware of the limitations of using generative AI for your academic work.
Sustainable Views (FT)
Access for UCL students and staff only. Username and password required for login, request this via the Contact the E-Resources Team form. Sustainable Views covers information on developments in ESG policy and regulation, the impact of sustainability metrics on capital markets, and the transition to a green and just economy.
Preqin Pro
Preqin Pro is a comprehensive database focused on Private Capital (Private Equity and Venture Capital) and Real Estate. It provides data about companies and funds, deals, exits, ESG exposure and strategies and Hedge Fund data.

Atlas: Free Data Sources for Environmental Data
This curated selection provides a comprehensive guide to various environmental datasets, including ecosystems, climate and overall environmental health.
Climatic Research Unit (CRU)
Official webpage for a leading institution concerned with the study of natural and anthropogenic climate change. The Climatic Research Unit is based at the University of East Anglia (UEA) and has an online library of related data collections.

Topics include: Temperature, Precipitation, Drought Indices, UK Climate, Mediterranean Climate, Alpine Climate Data and dedicated subsets for Japan, Greenland and the Falklands.
Defra Data Services Platform
The UK’s Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) offers openly available environmental data. It covers topics such as air quality, water quality, land use and more.
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Data Distribution Centre (IPCC DDC)
The DDC provides climate, socio-economic and environmental data, both from the past and also in scenarios projected into the future.
ScotPHO Key Data Sources
Scotland’s Public Health Observatory lists key data sources related to the physical environment, including environmental agencies and research councils.
UN Statistics Division (UNSD) Environmental Indicators
A collection of global environment statistics on ten indicator themes compiled from a wide range of data sources. The themes and indicator tables were selected based on the current demands for international environmental statistics and the availability of internationally comparable data.
