LCCOS Staff Conference 2022

FAQs

FAQ

How do I join the conference?

See our joining the conference instructions - this will also provide help with using Zoom.

Should I have camera and mic on or off?

While we would ask you remain on mute during the conference to reduce background noise, there will be an opportunity to unmute during part of the programme when you can meet your LCCOS colleagues in virtual Zoom rooms. So we would recommend testing your microphone and camera before you join the meeting. You can do this any time after you have downloaded Zoom.

If you'd like to put your camera on during the main conference you can, but you don't have to. You may want to put your camera on when we go into small groups to virtually meet your LCCOS colleagues. If you'd like to hide or blur your background this is easy to do. Find the camera icon (usually at the bottom of the screen) and click the small upward pointing arrow next to it - select 'Blur background' or 'Choose virtual background'. There are some preloaded virtual backgrounds you can use and there's an opportunity to preview them here before you turn them on.

Will the sessions be recorded?

Yes, all sessions apart from the LCCOS speed dating session will be recorded and available to view by all staff later on.

How far in advance should I join the conference?

Please join the conference promptly, at the advertised time on the programme of events.

Who should I contact if I have any technical issues?

Any issues logging on via UCL Zoom will need to be addressed to ISD.

For any issues with accessing the conference or our webpages, please email Natalie Telles, Rozz Evans or Helen Carney.

Will there be any opportunities for networking during the conference?

The LCCOS speed dating session has been designed to allow you to network and meet new colleagues. The LCCOS summer reception will also provide opportunities to catch up with colleagues and meet new people so we would encourage you to sign up for this if you haven't done so already.

Who should I contact if I have a suggestion or a comment?

We will be providing a feedback form so please use this to email your suggestions and comments.
