Bookmark items using the inbuilt Add Resource

Please note: the inbuilt 'add resource' only works for books. To add any other type of materials you will need to use the bookmark from Explore.

An alternative method to add resources to your reading list is to use the inbuilt 'Add resource' button. This button allows you to find resources available in the library catalogue and have them inserted automatically into a section of your list.

  • First of all chose where you want to add the new resource. when you hover the cursor between sections or items on your reading list you will see a bar showing you the option to Add resource, Add paragraph or Add section.

  • Click on Add a Resource a new window will open showing a search bar and the list of Recently Bookmarked items.
  • To add a recently bookmarked item just click on Add to list.

  • The best way to find the correct item is to type or paste in the search box the 13 digits ISBN of the resource you want to add. Or you can search for a resource by typing the title and the author's name in the search box.
  • The search results will show a list of titles, click on the title to check if the library holds the resource.
  • Select the item with the Tick: this means that that the item is available on Explore. Please note that If you select an item marked with the cross the item will be added to your reading list but it will show as 'unavailable', and your students will not be able to access the reading.

  • The resource is automatically inserted in the section of the reading list that you have chosen.
  • You can now assign a reading prioriy i.e. Essential, Recommended and remember to Publish the list to save your changes.
