Library Services
Time commitment: 5 minutes
Does a list already exist for your module? Search the reading lists by module code or title to find out.
Complete this webform. A new, empty reading list will be set up if one does not exist and you will receive an invitation to give you editing access: the email will appear to be from 'Talis', the software. The first time you accept an invitation you will be prompted to set up a Profile.
If a list already exists, you will be sent editing access to the existing list.
You will be sent brief instructions to get started and we will also offer you a short (20 minute) orientation session.
Add the Bookmark Extension into your web browser. You only need to do this once and we can show you how. You are ready to edit your lists!
First time user? Attend an orientation, either in person or watch a pre-recorded video.
Time commitment: 7+ minutes in total.
• Getting started with a reading list: Part 1. [Video 3+ minutes]. Screencast showing how to set up a reading list, add the bookmark button and add readings.
• Getting started with a reading list: part 2. [Video 4+ minutes]. Screencast showing how to organise a list, link to Moodle and request digitised readings.
Self-training is also supported by our Online Quick guides.
Time commitment: 20-30 minutes.
One of the ReadingLists@UCL team will give you a 1:1 guided session on Teams. This can be a new set up, or a refresher if you haven't used the lists in a while, or to troubleshoot particular issues. Contact us by email to arrange this.
Adding yourself as the List Owner shows students you are the person in charge of this module. It also helps library staff contact the right person to assist with purchasing resources or list maintenance.
To set yourself as list owner:
[Video 3+ minutes]. Screencast showing how to set up a reading list, add the bookmark button and add readings.
[Video 4+ minutes]. Screencast showing how to organise a list, link to Moodle [at 1.14 minutes] and request digitised readings.
