Mendeley allows you to work with Word to insert citations and references from your library into your Word document. You can then format the document in a citation style of your choice, e.g. Harvard, Vancouver, APA, etc.
There are two Mendeley Word add-ins that allow you to insert references from your Mendeley library:
If you create a document using the Mendeley Cite-O-Matic plugin, you cannot convert it for use with Mendeley Cite. Similarly, references inserted using Mendeley Cite are not compatible with the Mendeley Cite-O-Matic plugin.
If you are using Office 2016 downloaded from UCL, you may find that you are unable to install the Mendeley Cite-O-Matic or Mendeley Cite plugins. UCL has a policy which prevents third party Office add-ons. In such an instance you may get the message 'We can't load this add-in because we couldn't connect to the catalog'.
