Guide to using Mendeley reference management and social citation sharing software

Mendeley Cite: selecting a citation style

You can choose which citation style, also known as referencing style or output style, you want Mendeley to use to format your citations and references.

Your citations will be formatted according to the style indicated in the Citation Style tab in the Cite add-in window. To select a different style:

  • Click on any citation in your document, and go to the Citation Settings tab in the Mendeley add-in window:

  • Click on Change citation style, and click on the style of your choice.
  • If the style is not in the existing list, click on 'Search for another style...'.
  • Then click on 'Update citation style'.
