Mendeley Cite: selecting a citation style

You can choose which citation style, also known as referencing style or output style, you want Mendeley to use to format your citations and references.

Your citations will be formatted according to the style indicated in the Citation Style tab in the Cite add-in window. To select a different style:

  • Click on any citation in your document, and go to the Citation tab in the Mendeley add-in window:

  • Select the style from the Change Citation style list, and click on 'Update citation style'
  • If the style is not in the existing list, click on 'Select another style...'.

  • You will need to search for a style online, and then add it to your Citation Styles list.
