Library Skills training online

A guide to share best practice and support UCL library staff in designing and delivering online library skills training materials and activities.

Online tutorials

Online tutorials or lessons may bring together skills guidance or other learning objects, such as videos or text, and provide interactivity and assessment for learning. They are useful:

  • where the subject of the teaching requires detailed explanation or covers several concepts;
  • to introduce interactivity, such as activities and / or quizzes, which engage the learner and provide for assessment and feedback so the learner is an active participant in the learning process, rather than a passive recipient of information.

This section provides guidance on tools available to us to produce library skills tutorials.
