Library Skills training online

A guide to share best practice and support UCL library staff in designing and delivering online library skills training materials and activities.

Articulate Storyline

Articulate Storyline is a sophisticated package for creating online tutorials based on a series of 'Slides'. We also use it to create our online self guided library tours. It's benefits include:

  • Ability to develop alternative pathways through the tutorial based on the learner's interactions, such as clicks on a screen or responses to quiz questions.
  • Complete flexibility of design, including possibility for animated and multimedia slides.

There is a learning curve when using Articulate Storyline for the first time. We have a restricted number of licences for Articulate Storyline. Colleagues may borrow a library skills laptop to access the software, from one of the following library sites: Cruciform Hub, IOE Library, Main Library, Royal Free Library, School of Pharmacy Library, Science Library, SSEES Library. To arrange to borrow a laptop please contact Angela or Sabrina.
