Library Skills training online

A guide to share best practice and support UCL library staff in designing and delivering online library skills training materials and activities.

Reports

  • Survey responses will be gathered for both live and preview versions of the survey. This helpful page from SpringShare covers how to view survey reports and is summarised below.
  • Open your survey for editing, and click on view reports next to Settings.
  • To the right of the heading ‘Live submissions report’ you will find the option to toggle between responses to the Live survey and responses to the Preview.
  • Note the scroll bars to move down the page to view the individual submissions don’t appear until you mouse-over the submissions pane. To view an individual submission use the eye icon at the left side.
  • You can change the number of results displayed per page and navigate through the pages using these options in the box just above the responses.
  • The Export CSV button will download all the responses as a CSV file.

Optionally use the Advanced Filters bar at the top. You can create and apply filters to limit your report results to specific question responses. For example if you wanted only responses for a selected time period, or a specific session name/title, you can apply these criteria.

  • Note that if you are using more than one filter on the submissions report you can choose to 'match all' or 'match any' on the filters. Using 'match any' can allow you to specify multiple responses on the question answer but it's advised to use the 'match any' with caution as there have been some situations where it has not worked 100% reliably. You may want to sense check that you are getting all the values you would expect in the responses.
