Library Skills training online

A guide to share best practice and support UCL library staff in designing and delivering online library skills training materials and activities.

Survey maintenance

It is important to keep track of where you are using your surveys, and to remove any which are no longer needed.

  • Make sure that you record where the URL has been embedded and the unique URLs you have created. Record these locally or there is a spreadsheet on Teams (Library Trainers team, General channel, Feedback  folder) for LibrarySkills@UCL Core Programme or DSDP items.
  • Note that if you delete a survey question for a survey which already has responses, those responses will be deleted from the survey submissions.
  • If you need to make changes to a drop-down question, be sure to download responses and save them securely first.
  • Surveys should be deleted when no longer needed, to keep LibWizard tidy.
    • Review your surveys at the end of the academic year, and delete any which are no longer needed.
    • Before deleting a survey, check that it is not in use, e.g. embedded in an online tutorial or web page.
    • Make sure responses are downloaded and saved first.
  • If you leave your role at UCL and you have links to surveys embedded online (e.g web pages, course Moodle pages etc), please share your record of survey locations with your manager or in handover notes. Please delete any surveys no longer in use.
